Position
  • Local position - Manitouwadge Office.
  • Salaried position.
  • Monday to Friday.
  • Must have the ability to obtain clearance for site access to all mine sites where Manroc has contracts.
  • Primary role is underground mine training.
  • Secondary role is to assist in achieving and growing safety through tours, audits and education.
Requirements
  • Willing to travel to Manroc project sites.
  • Must have valid Driver's License.
  • Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing, criminal record check and medical.
  • Work with site personnel to identify training requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage all underground training activities.
  • Ensure all employees are authorized, trained and skilled for the job they are performing.
  • Ensure legislative requirements are met regarding training, sign-off and registration.
  • Assist with the development of training programs.
  • Identify training gaps in the program and within the workforce.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping of all training activities.
  • Other assigned duties.
Qualifications
  • Must be certified in the U/G Common Core Program #770010.
  • Minimum 10 years in an underground environment, with at least 5 years experience as a miner in various positions.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with a positive, supportive approach.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication, with good organizational skills.
  • Must have good computer skills using MS Office.
  • Preference given to candidates certified in a wide array of applicable specialty Common Core modules.
  • Ideal candidate will also be certified as a First Line Underground Mine Supervisor in Common Core Program #770121.
  • Train the Trainer or a professional training certification would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience building training programs or as a Mine Trainer an asset

Raise Miner Job Summary The Alimak Raise Miner is required to conduct underground raise installations, construct mechanized raise set-ups, scale loose rock, drill, and load and blast rock. The ability to read and interpret mine plans is a necessity in this role. The raise miner must exhibit comprehension of written and verbal instructions as required to perform the required duties in a safe, efficient manner. Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Alimak/Raise climber machines
  • Ontario Hard Rock Underground Common Core
  • Ability to work as a part of a team and independently
  • Ability to work with a partner
  • Willingness to conduct pre-access testing as a condition of employment
