Raise Leader
Job Summary
The Raise Leader is responsible for leading and participating in underground raise excavation projects using Alimak/Raise Climber equipment. Duties include constructing mechanized raise set-ups, scaling loose rock, drilling, loading, and blasting, while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with site procedures.
This role requires the ability to read and interpret mine plans, coordinate daily underground activities, and communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to follow and relay written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced underground mining environment.
Schedule & Site Information
- 14/14 rotation
- Rotating days and nights
- 10-hour shifts
- Fly-in or drive-in opportunity
- Camp accommodations provided
- Drug and alcohol testing required
- Criminal Record Check required
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating Alimak/Raise Climber equipment
- Ontario Underground Hard Rock Common Core (U0064 module required)
- Strong understanding of underground mining safety procedures and best practices
- Ability to lead, mentor, and work effectively within a crew environment
- Ability to work independently and with a partner
- Strong communication and organizational skills
